The Heart God Watches

There’s a subtle shift that can happen in our prayers
So quiet we don’t even notice it.

Until God begins to deal with the heart.

There is a version of me
that prays for open doors,
for increase, for a life that finally breathes.

A version of me that says,
“God, when You bless me:
I will buy a car.
I will travel around the world.
I will be fulfilled .”

And slowly, quietly,
without announcement,
The prayer shifts.

Not Your will be done,
but
my plans be funded.

Not Your kingdom come,
but
my desires be established.

And heaven… does not shout. It watches.

Because God is not only listening to words
He is reading hearts.

“The Lord looks at the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7

So before the blessing arrives,
before the doors swing open,
before the weight of answered prayers rests in my hands
He pauses…
and looks again.

Not to deny me,
but to prepare me.

Because what I call “blessing.”It
can become a burden
if my heart is not aligned.

So he teaches me again
gently, firmly:

“Seek Me first.”

Not as a suggestion.
Not as a side note.
But as the foundation.

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33

And suddenly, it makes sense.

It was never about the car.
Never about the travel.
Never about the comfort.

It was about the heart
that would carry them.

Will it remember the Source?
Will it stay yielded in abundance
the same way it was desperate in lack?
Will it still say yes
when “yes” costs something?

Because God does not just give blessings
He entrusts them.

And trust… is given to hearts that are aligned.

So I return
not empty,
but aware.

I lay my desires down again,
not because they are wrong,
but because they must be ordered.

“Lord, bless me and make me a blessing.”

Let my life not end with me.
Let my prayers not shrink to self.
Let my heart stay wide enough
to carry Your kingdom.

Because in the end,
It is not the size of the blessing that matters most

It is the condition of the heart
that receives it.

Selah!
