Day 3- Grateful for His Mercies and Grace

A few days ago, I started a gratitude series, and welcome to day 3. Throughout the day, I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me. It’s such a simple practice, but it has started to make such a big impact on my life and my attitude. Missed day 2 find it here.

Your aches and lamentations are waiting for you to count the blessing you already have. But you’re too consumed in what you do not have.

Grateful for His Mercies

I’m thankful for God’s mercy towards me, my family, and my friends. His Mercy said no I’m not going to let you go. I’m not going to let you slip away. You don’t have to be afraid. God’s Mercy said no Sin will never take control. Life and death stood face to face. Darkness tried to steal my heart away. But God’s Mercy said no.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Ephesians 2:4-5). When we are “separate from Christ,” we have “no hope” (Ephesians 2:12).

Grateful for His Grace

I’m thankful for the salvation provided for us through Christ’s death and resurrection.

Grace is free but not cheap.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Salvation came with a cost – the cross. Christ died on the cross, bearing the punishment for our sin, and providing eternal life for all who believe. When I think of the significance of my salvation, I cannot but be immensely grateful. I am grateful to God for His sovereign grace and for the conviction that brought me to repentance.

I am grateful for the power that gave me life and for the gift of faith. I am grateful for redemption, reconciliation, justification, sanctification, and glorification. Jesus forgave and invited me to the Father’s Feast that I did not deserve to attend! How can I be anything but grateful if I understand the magnitude of that undeserved love? God’s grace is sufficient for anything I go through. So, rather than query God for the things yet undone, I choose to be grateful for Grace and Mercy!

I choose to be grateful for God’s Grace and thankful for His Mercy! If not for His Grace and Mercy, I would have been consumed.

The unfailing love of the Lord never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction.

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day.

In conclusion

Recognizing the value of God’s mercy begins with acknowledging our sin.

“If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us” (1 John 1:10).

All of us have sinned (Romans 3:23), making us deserving of spiritual death (Romans 6:23).

We have not suffered that fate yet because God is merciful. We are worthy of punishment for our sins, yet God is merciful. He has delayed punishment so that we have time to repent. Let us take advantage of His kindness and patience and be obedient to Him now so we can be saved.

If you’ll like to give your life to Christ please say this prayer;

Lord Jesus, I come to you today. I ask that you come into my heart. I ask that you wash away my sins and I accept you to be my Lord and personal savior in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Congratulations and welcome to the family!

REMEMBER!

No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
